Vetwest Animal Hospitals Carine

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE! I took my dog here as she had a split in her nail, the vet told me she had no rooms so she had to take her out the back without me, she told me she would look at it and discuss with me what she was going to do but she instead cut the nail without telling me. She proceeded to tell me she had accidentally cut a nerve and had to have two nurses hold her down to even try look at it because she was bleeding so bad. My dog wasn’t given any pain medication or me to comfort her, the vet made me wait in the room for half hour to try to get it to stop bleeding. My poor dog was in so much pain from what she had done, she told me that I would have to come back because she didn’t think she did it right and there might still be a split. Overall it was a traumatic experience seeing my pet in so much pain and no help.

I have returned to this vet after spending 20 years up north. Great experience, the nurses were friendly & helpful & the vet I saw was great with my overweight pug, Daicos. Very thorough examination & were extra help to me as I was just post surgical & they did any heavy lifting for me. Highly recommended & back to being my local vet.

I felt heard and respected by the veterinarian.Unfortunately the nurses were aloof and actually hurt my dog!The vet listened attentively and showed genuine interest and respect for both of us. I was happy.So I was shocked to find a lesion where the nurse had taken my dogs blood!?I wasn’t going to mention the other nurses aloof and unfriendly manner. Until I saw the wound.I assumed they would be fully trained?? It would not be hard to find someone better qualified, kinder perhaps... considering large interest in being a vet nurse.I am torn!!!The vet was really good and the nurses were... not! I feel I cannot discuss my concerns with them as I wouldn’t want to upset the people who look after my dogs.

We had to make the incredibly difficult decision to euthanise our beloved cat on Sunday morning. We would like to thank the staff and specifically the Veterinarian that was on duty Sunday 13/12/2020 at the VetWest Animal Hospital Carine. They were all extremely professional, and the Vet explained what to expect during the procedure. He made the whole experience a little more bearable and graciously took our emotions into consideration by giving us enough time and privacy to say our last goodbyes.

Excellent service from Jo at reception as always. Nothing's ever too much trouble. We have two elderly dogs with lots of chronic health problems so visit Vetwest at Carine frequently. The vet nurses and vets treat our fur babies with great care and compassion.

Our dog came home from surgery happy and showing no fear of returning to the surgery. That was amazing for our sensitive dog!!The care shown and advice given was really great! Thank you.

Very disappointed with this clinic, I had an appointment today and I have arrived 7 minutes late, the receptionist told me that half of the appointment was gone and she had to ask to the vet if he could still attend me.She came back to me saying that she had to reschedule the appointment for another day as the vet could not attend to me anymore.This is not fair, I am always punctual but this time I could not make it on time. I have spent a lot of money in these clinics with my 2 dogs, and I have waited many times much more than 7 min to be attended and I have never complained.I believe I deserve to be treated a bit better. I wonder if they treat all customers this way, I will certainly not go there again.

As always, Jo is a credit to Vetwest Carine. We thank her for her time, patience and knowledge in the care of our two border collies. Always lovely to see her welcoming smile.

We have been going to Vetwest Carine since the day we brought our pup Colin home. We’ve always had a great experience there and the vets and nurse are extremely helpful. Jo in particular is always very informative and gives us lots of good advice without being pushy. We just popped in today to weigh him and ask some questions and she squeezed us in for a heart worm shot on the spot. Thanks guys ☺️

I have been taking my two adopted geriatric moggies to Carine Vetwest for the last three years and all of the staff have been excellent and compassionate. Sadly, one of them has now developed a terminal illness and the staff have been nothing but compassionate and helpful. Thanks Tess, Chris & Michael and an extra special shout out to nurse Jo who goes above and beyond to help. She is an outstanding vet nurse.
